Optimization of Pyrolysis Parameters for Production of Biochar From Banana Peels: Evaluation of Biochar Application on the Growth of Ipomoea aquatica

Banana peels waste can be utilized to produce high quality biochar that incorporated into the soil for sustainable production of crops. This research analyzed several properties produced from banana peel at different temperatures, residence times and heating rates. study focuses on yield EDX analysis produced. Response surface methodology using central composite design (CCD) was used optimize these parameters in batch reactor pyrolysis system. These factors were operated ranges peels, which temperature (200 600°C), time (60 180 min) rate (5 15°C·min −1 ) varied 20 experiments respectively. Quality determined based O/C ratio.
